![]() Winspear describes the fashions of the time from the hair styles to the clothing to the shoes. ![]() The details of post-war London are so interesting as are the descriptions of the effects that the war had on its victims. The mystery aspects were terrific and kept me guessing long after Maisie had everything figured out. PARDONABLE LIES had everything I've come to expect from a Maisie Dobbs novel. ![]() This book encompassed everything that I've loved about the first two books, but it just seemed to be a little bit better. If I had to chose, I'd probably say that this novel was my favorite in the series so far. ![]() I'm still Mad for Maisie! And maybe even more so after reading the third book in the series PARDONABLE LIES by Jacqueline Winspear. Set against a finely drawn portrait of life between the World Wars, Pardonable Lies is "a thrilling mystery that will enthrall fans of Jacqueline Winspear's heroine and likely win her new ones" ( Detroit Free Press). ![]()
